Default need help with a couple of things

working on my 1985 monte carlo 4.3 v6 cl.

problem #1 getting ready to change the spark plugs. i can get to the 3 on the drivers side, but how do you get to the 3 on the passenger side. the car still has all of the smog crap on that side, except for the smog pump itself.

problem #2. just replaced the blower motor for the heating and air. when i turn on the fan it works just fine. air blows through the vents when it is on the 3 air conditioning settings, when i go to vent or heat, it does not blow through the vents on the dash. when i turn to defrost it blows through the vents that go to the windshield. why does it not blow through the regular vents when on vent or heat????

thanks in advance.

Trey-
Problem #1 - I don't have an answer for you on that as mine has a 350 but I have to loosen my headers to get to my #6 plug because I haven't yet cut a socket to make it easier..lol you may have to remove the emissions stuff to get to them, unfortunately.

Problem #2 sounds like you may have a connector and/or control cable not hooked up properly at the control head. Do you hear vents moving when you shift between defrost and heat or air? My manual is not very specific but below is the graphic they gave as an example. Maybe it will give you some sort of visual as to what is in there.

I had an 85 with a 4.3 and you need to remove all the stuff in your way to change the plugs on that side. Sorry You might on some cars be able to change them form the underside.

I don't know if this will help? but.. I had an '84 and a '87 ss changing the plugs on drivers side was easy but the passenger side was super hard, until I jacked the car up, took off the pass wheel and viola!! straight shot at the plugs with a socket and straight extension or swivel!! maybe the 6 is the same??
