Well after a long talk with Amy yesterday looks like i'm going to be doing a T56 in the monte, i don't know how we got on the subject of my car, probably becuase it was nice out and a perfect day for cruisin.. But i was telling her how i'd like to do a manual and and how i'd like to do a T56(6 speed) becuase then if we take it on long road trips we'd have the cruising gears, she basicly told me if i want to do it DO IT, nows the time instead of doing it down the road, why spend the money on rebuilding the pos th200 now when that money could go toward a t56 and it would be the way i want it

so looks like i'll be looking into getting a T56 from a Lt car becuase that will be alot easier to do in my car with the oldschool 350, it will bolt right up instead of having to but an adapter plater extentions ec if i went wih the LS T56,

well cleaned off the car yesterday it was kind of becomming a bench.... , had to pull it away from the wall and stuff my frame next to it, my mom is having a garage sail and i'd rather not have anyone come into the garage and posibly get hurt...

Justin,
This could become quite a long (time-wise and info wise) thread. I had mine at your stages for quite some time. In fact the entire restoration took right at 3 years.
All it takes is TIME and $. I always found both came up a little short.
But in the end it is all worth it.
Keep up the good work.

got alittle done, pulled the seat out and sold it so cleaned up the interior a bit and got my seats place in there, i really like how they sit but i need to make some mounts as the stock bench seat mounts are tooo far out to the outside and there is no middle ones, also cracked my windshield... climbed in to test out the feel of the driver seat to see how it felt... hit tye mirror with my shoulder.... thats going to be expensive

I feel Really bad... my monte has been neglected as of lately.... the lack of money and dealing with this medical crap it hasn't had any love for some time....

i really miss driving, hell even working on my car.... and that dreaded W word with that white stuff is around the corner....

Just got a call from my buddy rick he was picking up some parts for his 84 Monte and the guy had a set of RUST FREE Florida doors ,ok there is one spot according to rick but it's less than a 1/2 in and easily repaired even if i need to replace metal it's in a spot where mine are good so i could use it as a donor if need be!

he picked up the pair for $200! i'll end up giving him atleast $250 just becuase a he found them for me and bought them so i could get the plus he's financing me letting me pay a bit at a time!!!!

i'll get pics up as soon as i pick them up from him which should be in the next day or so

picked up my new doors tonight, my budy rick was already doing some diggin on them, fount a hair of bondo on one looks like it was hitting the door, but it's little enought to tap out with my body hammers and just re skim coat and it's good, he also cut out the tiny but of rust that was there and he got a bit crazy on one with the wire wheel but price = $200

now some comparison
Old doors

NEW DOORS!!!!!!!!

these doors are in awsome shape i couldn't be happier! especially for $200! you can't find one door in this shape for that price
