Nope never caught them, still clueless as to who did it. There was people across the street that were always asking how much we wanted for it, and we told them it was never for sale. Then the day the car disappeared, they did to. The insurance company was VERY good to us though.

Welp ... Dad and Mom had a 1976 Monte Carlo, "my" '76 MC ... the one that started MY "love affair" with the car.
Then, they bought an '81 MC SC (which I now have).
Other than that ... nobody else in the family has owned a Monte Carlo, to my knowledge anyway ... and I would think I would know...lol.

Nope.. im the first in my entire family including extended to ever own a Monte Carlo of any generation.
My girlfriend Debbie claims her brother once owned a 2nd gen Monte as well as two uncles. We thought her youngest nephew was getting one. But so far, he hasn't even got his driver's license @ 21.

LOL. You opened a huge can of worms for me! Let's go back to 1977...
My grandma bought a white 1977 Monte Carlo S, brand new. At one point sold it to my dad and my grandpa(her ex husband LOL) at different points.
My dad had a dark blue 1982 Monte Carlo, which he sold to my grandma(same that had the white 77).
My aunt/Godmother had an 1987 Monte Carlo LS in gray.
My mom had a black 2001 Monte Carlo LS/HS (High Sport) package. She now has a 2003 SS/HS in silver, and the entire lower moldings were custom painted black.
My grandma(again, same one who had the 77 brand new) has a white 2002 SS(standard).
My great uncle in Florida has a gold 2003 LS.
My great aunt has a purple 1997 LS with 25,000 miles.
And finally, I have a 1974 Landau and a 1998 LS.
I've always loved Monte Carlos. My two are my second & third cars(had the 74 first). My VERY first car was a 1974 Chevelle Malibu, that got stolen. About a month later, I had the 1974 Monte Carlo in my driveway. I had wanted a Monte Carlo before I had my Chevelle...but could never find one.
I had found my 1998 MC by mistake. I was going to look at an 1986 Olds Cutlass for a daily car, and passed the MC on the way there. Didn't pay much attention to it, since I wanted that Cutlass. Well, the more we looked at the Cutlass, the more I saw it was a total POS. So, I went back to look at that Monte Carlo that same Saturday afternoon, and on Monday I drove it home. And now, over a year later, it's like driving a totally different car, I have done so much to it.
