I've been a fan of these engines for the last 8 years and I've seen people say that our cars have 17%, 17.5%, 20%, and even 25% drivetrain loss, lol. With all of those numbers my Monte (when it was NA) might have had 267hp, 269hp, 277hp, or 296hp at the crank.

Now my Monte is making 348whp with a Paxton Novi 1000. With all of those drivetrain losses, I could be making 419hp, 422hp, 435hp, or 464hp at the crank. At this power level, wheel spin is an issue(click here): Procharged Monte Carlo second try 0-60 (fail again) - YouTube

I'm going to push the engine more too. My pursuit for power won't end until I see 400whp.

those are pretty good numbers there. i wish mine put out 400whp.

Well that wouldn't be too hard for you, seeing as you've already got 300 crank, stock. I'd love to get mine that high, but the LA1 aftermarket is 0.

As Trewyn mentioned, it's there, but it's not as common as the 3800. But there are a few tweaks the 3400s can do. Heck, the 3400 is best option the N-Body guys have..... And I know those guys are messin' around with them.

I haven't dynoed my ls4 with cartunings turbo. There is at least one of them with 505 whp, estimated 640 crank hp in a Monte Carlo. Mine is mid engine and I'm probably going to get one of Kevins built granny's. I already broke one input shaft and when I replaced it with a 300m alloy shaft it apparently broke the first time I put the hammer down. That was with 5 lbs. boost. The 640hp one was at 12 lbs.

I don't know about yours, but my exhaust cut-out acts like a manual boost controller. When I am on the gas with it closed, it maxes out at 6 psi. When I have it open, it hits 12. There is a HUGE difference between the two. I still haven't had any tranny problems. Are you getting complete TC lockup prior to hammering it? I ALWAYS do. It's working for me so far...
