You're new here aren't you?

There's been plenty of 3800 cammed cars, supercharged, turboed.. etc.. They all sound like a pissed off weed whacker under power.

If you want a muscle car sound, you want a v8. There is no argument there.

Love it. Definitely want to turbo mine too. But don't plan on making it a drag car. That's what our drag bikes are for. Runnin one in bracket racing running 8 seconds but It can run mid 7s. And then running a turbo funny bike making close to 600hp and runs 212mph in 1/4 mile.

Sweet, you should post some pics and videos of the bikes I got out of the bikes and built turbo Monte. She is street driven and also a blast at the track. She will go a high 11- low 12 if I could hook off the line.

Correct me if I'm wrong any of you more experienced than me but if your looking for a better sound and the performance wouldn't the exhaust be a netter bet? If the cam isn't gonna boost the performance that much or give you a muscle car sound you can tune the exhaust and get that lower sound and performance for a lot cheaper. I know my exhaust is custom and it sounds a lot better than anu of the other 3800 engines I have heard, even an 06 series III supercharged. I think the exhaust is your best bet for what you want to do.

I think you're missing the point. With the specific motor there is no such thing as sounding loud and sounding good at the same time.

They do have good idles sometimes depending on the exhaust you go with, but that generally results in having a loud and annoying raspy sound as you get up in the RPMs.

Basically, 3800s can have good idles, but don't get your hopes up on it sounding good throughout the RPMs.

A cam will give you the "lope" sound which sounds awesome. A exhaust well..... unless your a turbo car if its loud it won't sound good under acceleration from what I've seen.
