I had considered them (I even have a salvage pair in the garage). I decided against them for a few reasons. But I may see if the late 4th gen calipers could retro fit to the '84 sometime in the future.
And to be honest from a "feel" aspect, the new pads/rotors/Goodridge brake lines seem to work great.

Thanks, but just so you know, they were powder coated, not painted. And hopefully powder coating is as durable as I'm told and I'll never see them chip or rust

Thanks, this morning was not a fun day.

For those who don't know... About a 1/3 of my drive to work and the temp started rising badly, I got off the freeway and went into a parking lot, popped the hood and steam is running out from the belt side. I grabbed the 7mm socket, opened the bleed screw and air/steam came out. With the bleed screw open and the car off, I carefully took my finger and pushed the one coolant elbow and just a little pressure and the steam from that region stopped (release and steam again).

So, on the plus side NO mystery about what my issue is, a coolant elbow pushed out. I changed both of these last spring.

I am suspecting since I took it on it's first ride and did not fully bleed the air from the system, the heated air caused a little more pressure then the system should have and the elbow was the "weakest" link of the system, pushed out just enough.

Tonight, I will be buying a new pair of elbows and replacing them and tossing these ones. It's about a 30 minute job to do the actual work, then fill and bleed the cooling system. More annoying then anything and REALLY sad to tuck tail back home and grab the Grand Am this morning....

Sucks to hear about the coolant elbows, IIRC there was someone over on ClubGP making metal elbows and selling them.
