yah, not so good. 13.4 at 106... with a 2.3 60 foot, and hella weight.. (when I cruise on the street I usually run around a 1/4 tank, and fill up every 30 minutes...)
106mph with 328whp, or was that before you had done more mods to get to 328whp? What made your car hella heavy at the track.. just gas?

When I was non-intercooled, I trapped 105.xx at 301whp (12.93s), 107.48 with about 310-315whp (12.66).

Since intercooled and rebuilt with the SS4 cam, I trapped 110-111mph, 12.5s on slicks, but no dyno yet.. I figure I'm somewhere around 340-350whp.

Dynos don't tell the true tale, unless you run on the same dyno, and have a baseline from stock. 1/4 mile traps are very accurate to estimate HP if you know your car's exact race weight.

FWDs are awesome for launching when the track is properly prepped... I've nailed many 1.8 60 foots on slicks, and 2.0's on street tires. You just have to know your throttle, and not get all horny when the tree starts lighting up. :-)

In it's purist form, this has digressed into a contest to see who has a bigger d1ck. Spending all that money on getting fast makes it ironic. I'd rather take my time and enjoy the ride, than seeing how fast I can get to the finish line.
Sure, it's a good feeling to show-off the tail lights to somebody whose got a whole engine compartment full of goodies.
But, you only got so many chances to be a winner.
When your luck runs-out; you get a mention in the paper or on the TV News.
The next day somebody is taking the parts off your wreck and selling them off for whatever kind of money they can get.
Then, six of your closest friends carry you out to take a ride in the back of a big car not built for speed.
Put a picture of somebody that loves you on the dash.
Don't go breakin' their heart!

Hi Big_mecho,

Thanks for the explanation; I really didn't know that, so for instance the new Challenger is advertising numbers like
425 hp and 420 lb-ft torque, this is at the fly wheel so the hp at the wheels will be more like 350- 375 hp right?

Also another question for you about exhaust systems like the magnaflow cat-back system for the 5.3 engine. How much would you say this would increase HP and torque at the wheel? Or would you suggest some other modification?

Thanks again for the info greatly appreciated.

From dyno numbers and drag times to death and pissing contests? I think your reading too much into it.

Tony, With the Magnaflow System you will gainless than10 whp without a tune.
With the K&N CAI according to them you are supposed to gain about 12-13 HP.
People with a Tune, CAI and, exaust report about25 - 35 whp increase.
And apparently the Tune is where they squeeze the most out of it.
Disclaimer:
This is based on what I have read on the Internet. There are more knowledgeable folks on here tham me. I am at best anIntermidiate when it comes to LSX engines LOL.

Me I Like the Stock exaust sound for my application of the car. It is my DD.
I added the CAI because It was somewhat cheap and easy to install. And there was a noticable difference in throttle response plus it makes this cool suction noise when you get on it. And the engine bay looks better.

You know there is a free mod for the LS4 cars. You can flip your motor mount that makes the car Launch a bit harder and spin less. Takes about 10 min to do it. and it is free. minus the cost of the beer you drink while you do it. LOL

And yes that is about right for Stock SRT8 Dyno numbers.

You're probably right.
I was surfin' the web with my buddy Jack Daniels driving, again.
Sometimes we get too emotional.
Not that that is a bad thing, though!

One last hijack... Rob, they retuned my car...

I was getting 4 degrees of KR on the final 1/8 strip, and it pulled almost 4 degrees of ignition advance, thus slowing me down on my trap... didn't want to mention much about it then until I got it fixed, but apparently, ZZP tuned it out. Entirely. Now I'm pulling 335 WHP... versus the 328 I was last time they tuned me... I am excited to get my baby back. 7 WHP just from tuning.. =)

I'm anxious to see with no extra weight, 1/4 tank, and street tires, what this baby can do. Once I get the launching down on streets, I'm hoping to get a set of slicks for fun. =)

on the STREET I have already smoked a few of the lightly modded suby's and evos... but the guys that got the time and money I can't touch...
my best is 13.6 at 105 mph with a 2.2 60ft. stock tires and full street weight. i think im gonna buy some bfgoodrich g force t/a kdw tires and see if they help out

Very respectable time kissmyss07... with a little more traction, you'll be deeper in the 13s for sure !

With slicks and a 1.8 launch, you are capable of squeaking into 12s.
