Default Which Flows should I get? '02 3.8 SS

Monte Lovers,

Ive got a Yellow 02 SS and I want to put some FLows on it. Ive been listening to how they sound on here, and man they sound good. I cant wait!!

My question is what EXACTLY should I ask for when I get them installed? I dont want it too too loud. I dont want to have a hard time hearing my radio or anything.

Also, will I get more horsepower?

Tell me what you all think.

Thanks.

Well, I recently bought the Borla Catback... There is a great feeling with the exshast, but the sound is kind of lacking, alil burr in the cabin around, 2,000-2,700 RPM, but most people can't hear it unless you are going fast. It might be safe to say going with any of the convential factory catbacks, are not loud at all... If you wanted to be louder, then I suggest, either picking a muffler, weither it be Flowmaster 40's(quieter, but still loud) or the 44's (loud), or maybe some magnaflow, even pick a borla turbo muffler (dunno the fit, but sure their is a way). If you have the extra money go to a local shop and see if you can get a cat back Fabed up for you, with your mufflers of choice. Youtube, might be a good place to look for exshast sounds/clips, none for borla... but plenty of others.

The SLP catback system from PFYC looked good, a few cars posted on youtube with it sounded real nice and deep and loud.

A few people on here have flowmasters, they sound good, but they aren't my favorite mufflers. I'm sure if you search you might find a few vids.

I have clips of my Flowmaster 40s here... give a listen. Flowmaster.com has clips also and just searching YouTube. If you can find which series you want, each gives a different sound and volume level.

Once you find a clip you like, ask the poster (if they don't have it listed) and they'll (usually) be happy to tell you.

As far as mine go, I have NO problems hearing my radio! (I took the resonator out, so that increases interior drone but I still can overcome it. the thing is, long interstatetrips, my inner ear picks up on that drone and I sometimes get a headache {trips over 1.5 hours, 70+ with no stops})

ultimately, go with what YOU like... don't let anyone else talk you into doing something you don't want because, when it boils down to it, YOU drive your car: they don't!
