DRL on a 2002 Monte Carlo???

A long time ago I read somewhere that on some cars you could put the E-brake on by pushing it down one click and on that would disable the running lights. I don't remember were I read it or what cars this worked on but it would be easy enough to try. I don't know if that would make your brake warning light come on.
