I went ahead and got the mounts trimmed and one of them started with a wire cup brush on the grinder

Interesting knowledge about the dog bones and the anti-pogo washers! Thanks for sharing that info! It also does not surprise me. Some of these items I suspect were just taking advantage of the internet crowd who did not know any better.

I've seen the aluminum venture van mounts. I was tempted to mess with them but opted to pass (I felt they looked out of place, but hard to say once you're done with them).

But also note: The 3400 and 3800 Monte has different upper rad mounts. The 3800 rad mount is held with 4 bolts, while the 3400 is held with only 3 (two in the side and one on the front of the rad cross brace). I wondered if it was for a "strength" issue.

Can't wait to see the finished products!!

There is barely any pressure on the bottom bolts of the dogbones. I have had mine out for so long and had no issue at all.

Also, those short ones are sweet, but I could never run them with my headers.

Oh man I sent a venture to the scrap yard a few years back. I could have kept all of this for the monte for free. The aluminum mount will look good all buffed up.
