RE: Car Show Site : )
I've attended car shows for pretty much the past 30 years. Since the late '70s and I was but a young-un.
There used to be some recurring shows I hit every season. A lot of those are now gone. The host clubs lost members due to old age or lost interest and the show is no longer held. Like the one a Dayton, Oh club called Gem City Classics put on for close to 30 years. A once mighty car club, Gem City is now nothing more then a touring club. Their last event was they partenered with the Cinci Classic Chevy club to host the 2005 International convention. I attended in my white '57 Chevy 2-door Wagon.
Another example: Classic Chevy Club itself.
Back in the 1980s it was nothing to see 600 - 700 Classic Chevies attend the National Convention. You would find vendors selling parts from all over the United States. Classic Chevy has been sold several times since. In 2005 they talked about the large turn out they had 250 '55/6/7 Chevies. You wonder where all these '55-57 Chevies you used to see at shows went? Many are now overseas. In Sweden, Norway, even Australia they love American made cars/trucks. I know in Sweden they have a car show just for AMERICAN made cars/trucks that's held once a year. I beleive in S. Africa they also hold one.
Cruise The Burg in Miamisburg, OH is a pretty nice cruice-in. It's held every year june-september.
There's also a nice cruise-in held in Germantown, OHjune-september that's the weekend before Miamisburg has their's.
The Rebel Run which has been in Lima, OH is a pretty nice show. Not near what Goodguys puts on in Columbus but still nice. They have 2,000 cars/trucks show up.
Goodguys on the other hand boasts 6,000 cars/trucks attend their show in Columbus. And I beleive it. It takes all weekend to walk this show.

RE: Car Show Site : )
Thanks RJ & Sean for your posts & links.
I love attending cars shows and seeing what owners do
to their vehicles.
I always get idea's on what I would, or would not like to do
to my ride.
It always amazes me how much time & money a owner
puts into their cars.
RJ, you sure have been lucky to go to so many : )
I hope my future holds that oppurtunity.
Peace/Out `Space

RE: Car Show Site : )
Space,
I didn't know car shows have been going on in my area a lot longer then I knew about? Like back in the 1950s there were some held around the Dayton area. I know some of the people I've met over the years look like they were stuck in the '50s.
Whether it be their actual age or time line. [sm=icon_rofl.gif]
At this point in time it's hard for me to imagine not going to the shows I used to attend and did for many years. Not going makes it seem like it really isn't summer for me. Not getting to see the people I saw and became friends with is tough. You don't think of things like thiswhen you go to same show year after year after year. You think "Why did it have to end?" And that it ended too soon.
For the most part, going to car shows has been a positive experience for me. Sure you run into some real jerks. You find them anywhere you go.
I like the interaction with the public. People coming to look at "MY" car. And I like looking at the pretty ladies who come to look/see. Then there some pretty nice cars that attend, too.
