Default Calling all 2004-2005 SS owners.....

I have been reading the Consumer Guide report on the Monte Carlos, and I believe that the 04-05 Supercharged SS is what I want. Any advice, stories, hints and tips would be welcome as I want to learn all I can about these SS's.

I love my 05 SS! Great thing about these engines is there are tons of mods available to get some added HP!

I love mine. Love the extra power. And like already said, tons of mods available for them. But you should be aware, the manual says that the supercharged 3800 calls for premium gas.

Yeah I didn't think about that when I bought mine, knew it but forgot about it today I also found 92 octance at a closer gas station...but they ruined it by being ethanol or at least the sticker on the pump above it said it was ethanol, didnt mean to change the subject

Crud, they require premium? Well that def is a down side. What happens if you put in regular? Should I look at the 2000-2003 SS then? Do they require premium?

It depends who you talk to. Some people think it's a scam. Others say that it affects the engine's performance, and could cause engine knock. When I bought mine, the dealership had been using it as a dealership demo. And they had been filling it with regular for 3 years. It took a few tanks of premium, but eventually I noticed the engine ran smoother with premium.

Intake gaskets go bad on the NA engines as well as the Supercharged ones. I run Premium fuel in my Supercharged engine because that is what the owner's manual recommends.
