Default Cabin filter question

So it's been raining cats and dogs here in MA.. I went to the gym today and when I got out I went to my car and noticed a puddle on my passenger side floor. It looked like there was water coming down from behind the dash, right at the front where you put your feet. I dried it up with some paper towels and went to get ready for class. Got back in my car and noticed more water. I talked to a friend who has Monte and he said the same thing happened to him and that it was the cabin filter, it needed to be pit back in right. That being said, does the cabin filter explanation make sense and how hard is the cabin filter to put back in/ how do I put it in?

It's very easy to do, the problem isn't the filter, but the weather stripping around the cowl. It likes to fall off,

If you want you can do a complete fix so that will never happen again by going to a GM dealership and getting part #: 15794785

That will take the place of the rubber weatherstripping that always falls off, but you will need to cut the cowl (an extra plastic piece) to make it fit.

Follow the write up in the link Nascar43 posted. It's like $4 for the new part from the dealer. I did it to my Monte and my wife's Impala. Takes about 5 minutes. Piece of CAKE! And not to mention "Problem Solved".

EDIT: My bad, the link Nascar43 posted is just about the cabin air filter. Use the link below. It's information Chibi got from another site (and commented earlier about). It's SUPER easy and THAT is what I did to my Monte and my wife's Impala.

Jason, old old thread.

Oliver bumped it for a non-related question. Which I don't know the difference, why do you ask??
