'87 Steering Shaft Question
A while back, approx. 2 yrs ago (not many miles), I replaced my steering box and steering shaft with replacement parts from the local parts store (I'm sure they are China's finest). I have a pretty sloppy steering wheel still. I have read where ppl swap out the steering shaft from one that has the rag joint to an S10 one that is straight steel. I guess my questions are: (1) Does this gets rid of steering slop? and (2) does it induce an intolerable amount of road vibration through the steering wheel? Getting a used S10 shaft sounds pretty affordable as compared to the shinny one linked below for serious bucks. What are your guys thoughts on all this? Thanks in advance.
