That carat 72k miles, I'd buy it as long as it didn't appear to be abused.

The 02 Monte we got a few months ago had 88000 miles on her.
The car is in great shape.

I dont think 72000 miles is high mileage as long asits been well maintained.

If you are getting it from CarMax I also believe that they will offer you a warranty for it as well.

We just got a warranty for the 05 Monte. paid just over1000 buck for a bumper to bumper plan with a 100 buck deductable for the next 3 years 36000 mile

Hey guys!

I'm new here, selling my camaro since it has become a money sink and was thinking about buying a Monte Carlo. I was looking at a 2003 SS that I can get for a fairly good price, only thing is it has 72K miles on it. The whole purpose of buying a different car is so that I can avoid dealing with all the problems I've dealt with on my first two used cars(ie problems galore, pouring money into them every few months to fix problems). I'm not sure if 72K is high for a Monte Carlo or not, how much life does this engine have left? Is there anyway to keep it going strong for a LONG time after I purchase it?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
The 3.8 is a pretty solid motor, probably one of the most solid motors out there but we'd have to know the condition of the car and it's maintenance history in order to have any idea how reliable it is likely to be for you.
