My buddy has an 06 Monte Carlo and just upgraded his factory system to an aftermarket one. He asked if I wanted his radio and I said I would take it but I may not be able to use it. My question is, is it possible to use it in my 04? I actually like the button layout and display a lot better but I am probably thinking it wont work. Anyone know? Thanks and its great to be a Monte Carlo owner. Its a blast to drive.

 

I can only go by the information GM/Chevy offered in the sales brochure and a couple other written sources for the '06/07 Montes.

The center stack, or middle of the dash is a complete new design over the '00/05 Montes.

This isn't saying the '06 sterio won't fit the dash of an '00/05 Monte. Cause it still may?

I'm just saying going by the information provided by the company I'd have to answer no it won't work in your dash.

 

I would take it and try it out to see if it fits, if not, try to sell it on ebay or somewhere and try to make a few bucks.

 

I thought I read on here a while back that the connection for the wire harness is different.

But I don't know that for sure. I'm with drewskie though. Take it, and if it doesn't fit, sell it.

 

you could by 2 harnesses and hack them up to work?

 

Its a diff dash layout. It probably wont look right, if it fits in at all.
