RE: 06-07 Headlamps
the only two things the SS had that the LTZ does not
1. V-8
2. 18 inch wheels
The LTZ has side air bags (you have to buy them, opt on all models)
It even has a body kit on it (LT3 did not come with a body kit)
The SS you had to pay extra for the prem. stero, leather seats, auto dimming mirror inside, heated seats, heated mirrors

Mrrench could you post up some pics of your body kit that differ from the LT3? Just curious as to what it looks like. I looked at rj's LTZ and saw no difference to mine, except that his rockers are body color.

Hi Gabe,
RJ's, LTZ comes from the factory with painted rockers, but you
could paint yours : ) + the LTZ has
prem. stero, leather seats, auto dimming mirror inside, heated seats, heated mirrors .
I think above is the only difference between the 3LT & LTZ.
I'm sure `if there are other differences, a LTZ member
will post them.
`James, your turn : )

RE: 06-07 Headlamps
I beleive I started the topic regarding the 06 - 07 headlamp problem.I had mine replaced under warranty in December, and the new ones are turning grey too.If you feel the top of the headlamps after driving, you will notice they get very warm from the daytime running lights.I think this heat is fogging up the chrome.(the tech at the dealership agreed)I have looked at Impalas and Monte Carlos in parking lots and they all have this fogging.Keeping the car in a garage or warm climate will not help. The only way not to have it is not drive the car.I could actually see my new ones losing their bright chrome luster after about 2 weeks. You really had to look when it was in the garage under the lights, but it was there.

You are wrong about the painted rockers on the LTZ's
It is a body kit on the rocker
Look at RJ's pic that shows the left side of his car

`Michael, Mrrench,
You are correct, and I am very Wrong & admit my error[X(]I'm so Sorry [X(]
ForGive `Me for I have sinned against the LTZ owners [X(]
I've been wrong about many things, but hopefully I'm learning
as I travel my `journey in life.
Thanks for the correction & pointing out the difference.
What pieces are different on the LTZ ?
Rocker's, rear piece behind tire ?

Hey Cdnmonte what are you smokin? The SS isn't the top of the line in Montes, it is indeed an LTZ thank you very much. The SS is only the sports car line so to speak. Heated mirrors on SS optional, there are several others as well that are STANDARD on LTZ.

Yes the bottom of the rear bumper as well.
On the LT3 the 3.9L engine, dual exhaust are all opt.'s
The spoiler on the LT3 was the standard whales tail, the opt spoiler is the race inspared (Nascar style)
The list goes on......
I posted this link before, but here is a link for the 2006 Monte Carlo brochure
