06-07 Headlamps

RE: 06-07 Headlamps
Oh I fully believe they knew it was coming to an end. Of course the engine is used in several other models so no new added expense there, and the front lamps are interchangeable with an Impala so no expense. If you take a good look at your dash the lines are incredibly similar so it's really just a matter of different materials. Of course the seats and stuff are new. But doesn't it seem odd that they only offered the 3.9 in 06 and not 07? Also an LTZ only in 06? Why? Where's the logic in this?

RE: 06-07 Headlamps
Insurance companies? I dunno, it is a very impressive power/weight ratio for a V6 vehicle that is naturally aspirated.
Main thing probably is the technology. DOD went into the 3.9impala for 07, and the 3.9 lost 12 hp, and only gained 1 mile per gallon highway!!!
Gm probably knew that since the monte was being disco'd anyways, lets just cut the non-DOD 3.9 engine from production, and just make the DOD engine for the impalas. The cut the entire 3LT package, just leaving LT, 2LT and LTZ, under the SS of course.....

RE: 06-07 Headlamps
When I got my LTZ, I really wanted the SS
but the SS did not come loaded like the LTZ did
I was not going to pay an extra 4 grand for a v-8 and 18 inch wheels.
To me the SS should have been the top of the line.
It should have had everything that the LTZ had with no extras........
14 months later I still love my LTZ
