Repair Guide: How to change rearview mirror lights - 6th Gen
#31
I just installed LED's in my interior. I bought all the ones I needed (actually it came with 2 I didn't need as I don't have an ash tray or a light in my glove compartment) off ebay for $20.
I have the Onstar mirror so the bulbs are tough to get to. I saw a thread on here the other day where someone described wrapping duct tape around the tips of needlenose pliers and pulling them out with that. That didn't work and broke one of the bulbs. Another person recommended a piece of rubber tubing. Push it over the end of the bulb and squeeze the hose to form a vacuum and pull. I did this and it worked perfect for the other side. I too took the mirror off and worked on getting the broken one out. Once I had it all done, I'm really happy with the LED's. I just went for bright white (too old for anything funky) and they really work great!
