$260 for a downpipe + high-flow cat.

$50 to install the downpipe since I couldn't touch those rusted/rotted nuts

You walk away with HELL OF A LOT better stuff. Warranty or not, I would do that route.

So why did the dealership have my car for over a day and quote me so much?

Because they need to make money and think that people dont know any better. Thast why they are called STEALERships.

See, I didn't know any better. I joined the MCF after reading about the extened warranty for the cat converter as a guest to the forum while I was searching the net. The dealership didn't mention it under extended warrany from GM. I was confused when they gave me a quote. I had to speak on it first. They acted like they didn't know about it. Funny thing is, out here in Las Vegas, that dealership ( Bill Heard Chevrolet ) got closed down recently for bad business practices.
