Unhappy I think it's a tranny problem

I have a 2000 Monte Carlo SS 3.8 and the other day I went to drive it and I put it in drive and the engine reved up and the car started moving then when I gave it more gas the car seemed to grab the gear and it jerked. This only happens when I go foward from a complete stop. When the car is moving it runs just fine. I checked the transmission fluid and it was ok. I was thinking if I just need to get the transmission filter and oil need to be changed. Has anybody had this problem before. I hope somebody can help me.

these days its usually more cost efficient to purchase a remanufactured unit as opposed to having yours rebuilt.

I don't trust transmission shops to rebuild at all. I deal with several transmission shops daily, some of these guys I consider good close personal friends. But I wouldn't buy an apple from those guys, I so don't trust them. One place just disassembles, cleans everything with brake clean and reassembles, calling that a rebuild - they never buy parts. Transmission shops never want to stand behind their work.

I got stories. Lots of them. Don't let a transmission shop rebuild it
