6th Gen ('00-'05): Weight Reduction Help.
The whole argument that 'these cars weren't meant to be raced so go buy a car that is' is pointless.
Here's my logic:
A 3400lb GM fwd is pointless to race, go buy a Camaro instead.
Then someone says, a Camaro is pointless to race, Corvettes are lighter.
Then someone says, Corvettes are pointless to race, go get an old muscle car with a big block, etc.
Then someone says that those old muscle cars are pointless, go get a real dragster.
In the end, do what you want to do. There is always going fo be a platform out there that's better, but it doesn't matter. If you like being different and running an outdated poorly setup for racing GM 3400lb fwd car, then so be it. I personally think it's fun to be a little different.
Back on topic, a lot of people can lose weight themselves which can help too.

Once again, very well put.
I agree. I hate pulling up to a car show / cruise in / track and having one of 20 camaros there, or one of 50 mustangs.
Sure it costs more to do something different, but IMO it's more rewarding in the end.
