Tuning question

Tuning question
How do I determine whether my IAC and MAP sensor are bad or will the tune take care of that?
Also, I will be replacing my front O2 Sensor with an AEM wide band hopefully this weekend, would this allow for some correction too?
Thanks for your help.

I know with the right scan tool, you can do a functional test on the IAC (the idle will change as you open and close the IAC). Outside of the Snap-On scan tool I have access to, I don't know another way of testing the IAC.
My experience is that the IAC does not usually go bad, but can need a cleaning now and then.
As for the MAP sensor, I've seen some good data on YouTube in the past on how to test it.
If those items are truly bad, a tune will not take care of that. If they really are bad, they need replaced.

PCMforless. Based in North Carolina and have a guy like 10min from me. Either mike00ls or maniac had theirs done there.
For WB O2 sensor does it go in factory location or is a new hole needed?
If so O2 Bung Plug from ZZP? Is the O2 Bung needed or does it come with the AEM?

Hey Bait, I've had PCMforLess tune my Monte after I modded it, I have NO complaints about their service (keep in mind, via mail order you may have to go back and forth sending it in, I think it took 3 times to get me dialed in).
Out of curiosity, what all performance mods have you done and what else do you have planned?

I would like a throttle body from P-a-P and I am waiting on my exhaust till I need to replace.
In general I know that it will clean it up and I need my Check engine light for E-check.
As a reminder I am a 3400. Don't shake your head too much now.
Also he is only 10 mins away from me and going to do it there only about an hour for the whole process.

Before you work with PCMforLess, are you just having them delete the P0420 code as a result of a high flow cat to get past E-Check? If that's all you are having done, I got a DHP PowrTuner and delete it for a couple of bucks (before you ask, I won't do any "tuning" beyond that as I am still learning the device, but I can delete codes safely).
But if they are making some performance mods you your tune, then stay the path you are on.
Now, as for a Throttle Body... What did you want to do with that?
Also, I know some 3400 guys do a top swap with a 3500. Pull-A-Part east within the last week or so had a 3500 car (I think a Malibu).... Last I saw it still had all it's top end.
Also, grab some L67 coils to slap in (don't spend more then $30 for a set, the mod has minimal change, but I have a set on the 3400 in my Grand Am and the wife's Impala).

You may wanna make a trek to Pull-A-Part east then, as a 3500 is NOT common to come by yet (still too new of an engine). Plus, Pull-A-Part east has a couple Montes (as discussed in my other thread).
