A local auto parts wont be able to scan that deep into the system...

For issues on a trans...A trans shop will have the proper scanner to look into the actual transmission area for issues...solenoids/overheating etc...

I would recommend have a trans shop scan it....
Im sure they will be able to tell you whats going on with it...

My old boss has a nice scanner that does obd obdII and abs codes, think his would be able to pull it up?

If not what kinda of price range would i be looking at for just a scan from a decent shop? Only quote I've gotten for a scan was $85 from a local dealership

Good grief. If you know anybody with an Aeroforce gauge that's nearby, it can read tranny codes and tranny temperature.

Just call up a tranny shop and ask them if they will scan it for free. Don't bother with a dealership.

Went ahead and just dropped the pan and changed the filter. Definately feels smoother but still a bit harsh. Should buy me some time until i can afford a second car to use as a dd while i tear out the tranny
