Hey guys, just thought I'd update you on what they found wrong with the transmission. It wasn't good. They did a rebuild and here's what they itemized as being fixed/replaced. It was expensive, but not as much as a re-man or new one.
Overhaul Kit w/Pistons, 2nd Drum, Reverse Band, Complete Planetary Set, Thrust Bearing Kit, Pressure Control Solonoid, Pressure Manifold Sensor, Filter, Torque Converter, Transmission Fluid.
Rear Main Seal also fixed
Oil Pan Gasket also fixed

Just the tranny work was around $2300.00, but add in the rear main seal, oil pan gasket, oil change, and misc stuff, tax, etc... came to total of $2600.00.
To top it off, the car was running good when I left with it, nice to have the tranny working properly again, BUT, as soon as I pulled in my driveway, I blew a brake line! Can you believe it? Had to have it towed right back to the shop to be fixed. Finally got it back the next day after replacing two sections of brake lines, all seems okay now.

My 03 needed a rebuild 2 years ago and she had around 120k on her. she gave me no signs she was going bad. one day out of the blue i just simply lost over drive. i got her down to my trany mechanic right before i was about to lose 1st gear a few months later after i had the cash saved up to replace the trany. he did a complete rebuild and it cost me around $1800.

Sounds like you definitely had a "Hard" rebuild...
But still sounds like an awful lot for a complete rebuild... Did you at least get to verify the drum among other parts were actually bad?
(Just curious)

I really didn't think to ask about verifying the old parts. I can do some minor stuff myself, and have learned a lot since owning this car, lol, but it's a little over my head once you get into tranny parts. Guess I just put my trust in the shop that did it. The car seems to be going along fine, I did notice when shifting between 50-60mph seems the rpm wind a slight bit longer/higher before shifting, but I wouldn't exactly call it "delayed". I'll keep an eye on it. Other than that. I haven't noticed anything else.
