Tranny issue
So im driving down the highway the other day doing about 65 and I stomp it and the tranny/motor has a 2 second reaction time.... Almost like it stalled out of something... What could be the cause of this? its an 07 lt and I just rolled over 36000 miles... (of course)
also I copied this out of somebodies signature:
-Aluminum Transmission Pan w/
Cooling Fins and Drain Plug
what exactly is that and what does it do?

I'm not familiar with the 6th gens, but it almost sounds like your PCM is going into survival mode. It does that so you dont blow a hole in your tranny.
-Aluminum Transmission Pan w/
Cooling Fins and Drain Plug
They replaced they trans pan with one that is aluminum ( it dissipates heat better) has cooling fins like this..
and has a drain plug so when you drop the pan, the oil doesn't splatter every where.

The finned aluminum pan is supposed to help keep the tranmission cooler by increasing the surface area of the pan (which holds the trans fluid).
The drain plug on it is a convenience feature.
Our transmission pans don't have any sort of drain plug like the oil pan does, so when you go to remove the pan you have to carefully spill the oil out.
Also, with a plug you could drain your transmission fluid without dropping the pan.
