pcv bracket/cover/???
I have an '05 Monte with a 3.4 sfi engine. I think I'm having an issue with the PCV valve and would like to change it. I found where it is, however, there appears to be a bracket holding the valve in place, keeping it from being removed. I can't remove the bracket because there are are two rivets installed in the valve cover. I searched the internet and couldn't find much information on other 3.4 engines that had this "feature". I would like to cut this bracket off but I don't know if that would be a good thing.
Also, I have a Haynes manual that shows a picture of the pcv valve and where it's located, but the picture doesn't have the bracket installed on it which leads me to believe it isn't necessary.
Don't know if anyone else has come across this, but I can send a pic if need be.
Thanks in advance

On my '01 LS with the 3.4L, the PCV valve was just sitting right there on the front valve cover and you did not have to move anything to get access to it.
The only thing you had to do to pull it out was to remove the vacuum tubing that was attached to the top.
