Exclamation switching to synthetic oil

So last week I got my oil pan gasket replaced ( turns out there wasnt a gasket even on there.
While I was at it I switched from partially synthetic oil to fully synthetic a couple of miles later my message box says change oil. Is there a reason for this to happen im a bit concerned. All comments are welcome

Did the shop that replaced the gasket/changed oil reset the light? If not, it may be that your old oil was near the end of its life and that's why the light came on. I don't think switching to full synthetic oil had anything to do with the light coming on. If the light hasn't been reset yet you can do it by turning the key to the ON position then depressing the gas pedal 3 times in a row. If your factory chimes are functional you should hear a chime indicating the reset was successful.

X3...

It wasn't the switch to synthetic at all. I would bet the shop just didn't reset the oil life indicator.

My oil change shop always asks if you know how to reset the oil life!
If you dont... They will tell you how to do it! right then and there.
