Surgeing on acceleration
#13
I stand corrected it is a 95' with a 3.1 in it. Its not my car, it my kids. My other son has a 93' Honda. Got them mixed up hence the confusion. Now that we have that straightened out, does anyone have any constuctive suggestions for me. The car is in a different city at the moment, so I wont be able to take a look at it till Christmas. He said it seems to run better after it warmed up some.

Now that makes a bit more sense. I know i have called my Jimmy a 97 when its really an 89. I confused it with the 97 Monte i had a while ago.
But back to the OP question.
After re-reading your orignal post, you said it runs great at a constant speed. I was thinking. could it be the EGR valve thats stuck?
Zipper is correct. Is the CEL on? t may have codes. Unfortunately, with it being a 95, its an OBDI system. Your going to have to about it the old fashion way and jump pin A to pin B on the Connector under the dash. Then read the flashes and go from there.
Hopefully that helps.
One more thing. When was the last time someone did some maintenance to it ( air filter, plugs and wires )?

No check engine lights. The fuel filter was changed two years ago. Plugs and wires were changed last year. Air filter was just changed. Is there a way to check the EGR valve? I forgot I had changed the fuel filter on it, my son refreshed my memorey!
