Spark Plug Opinion
Go add that to the list of things to do too :P
i have e3 in all my vehicles and they are made by ngk the same company that makes our stock plugs. i never had my tips break off in the engine of any engins of my vehicles i did notice a slight increace in pep and mph and never had my cat's get cloged either.the plugs will show any weak point quick fast in a hurry i had to replace my coil pack that i didnt know was bad till i changed my plugs at 65k. mamonty becarefull my old plugs three of them were seased on i was glad they were on the front. i just wanted to give you a heads up. on the wires you can do a quick check one day when the engine is ice cold is to take one off and check the boot i ended up replacing the wires as well do to four of them shreeded when i took them off so becareful
i can buy the fact e3's may give you the benefits of a better spark, but since they are a copper core, the longevity of the plug suffers greatly. you will only get about 15k out of them before you have to replace. i also read that the e3's give you a 10k warranty, which is a reflection of the copper core. that's why iridium and platinum plugs were developed, for their longevity as well as good spark. that's why OEMs choose these plugs over something like e3's. bottom line, you best bang for your buck is the OEM iriduim plug or something equivalent.

My thing about the E3's has always been that the gap from each strap to the center is never going to be the same as the others (thats just a fact of life in any manufacturing process)- and since electricity always takes the path of least resistance, its always going to jump to the closest strap. Not to mention, for years racers have ground back the strap as much as possible so you inhibit the spread of the flame wave as little as possible- the E3 sticks a bunch of extra straps in the way.
yes, i came across this interesting nugget of info while doing some research and trying to decide if i should buy them. can't really remember where i read it...it was a while ago. then i just figured: screw it, i'll stay with the stock plugs.
