stock vs aftermarket options as far as spark plugs are concerned is not big. go with either one. doesnt matter. i dont recommend E3 because the electrodes on the plug, I have heard, can break off and cause serious damage.

i can buy the fact e3's may give you the benefits of a better spark, but since they are a copper core, the longevity of the plug suffers greatly. you will only get about 15k out of them before you have to replace. i also read that the e3's give you a 10k warranty, which is a reflection of the copper core. that's why iridium and platinum plugs were developed, for their longevity as well as good spark. that's why OEMs choose these plugs over something like e3's. bottom line, you best bang for your buck is the OEM iriduim plug or something equivalent.

Are they really? I honestly never knew that- its definitely not something they blatantly advertise.

My thing about the E3's has always been that the gap from each strap to the center is never going to be the same as the others (thats just a fact of life in any manufacturing process)- and since electricity always takes the path of least resistance, its always going to jump to the closest strap. Not to mention, for years racers have ground back the strap as much as possible so you inhibit the spread of the flame wave as little as possible- the E3 sticks a bunch of extra straps in the way.

I just replaced the plugs on my Dale Jr with replacement Delco iridiums. I haven't replaced the wires yet but I bought some Delphi replacement wires since Delphi is the original manufacturer of the Delco wires on the car.
