Default Spark Plug Opinion

Hi Everyone,

So i'll be changing my spark plugs on my 2006 3.5L pretty soon here after I hit the 100,000 mile mark.

My car cam stock with AC Delco Iridium plugs, and I was wondering what everyone's opinion is as far as a good replacement plug.

I am leaning hard toward just replacing them with OEM AC Delco Iridium's, and replacing the wires with AC Delco OEM as well...

But, a part of me is considering trying the Autolite Xtreme Performance Iridium plug, which claims to be an OEM equivalent. Thoughts? Is there other plugs out there that anyone HIGHLY recommends over the OEM AC Delco Iridium's?

Thanks for all input, I appreciate it!

Keep with the stock. They were chosen for a reason, and you got plenty of life out of them!

Yea, thats the logic I was using too, which is why I have been leaning towards just using the stock plug. But I had to ask.

i would agree. keep with the stockers. even an OEM equivalent won't give you much a benefit in power, fuel economy, etc. i considered using E3 spark plugs, but did some research and found out they have a copper core which equals short plug life (around 10-15k miles). OEM plugs and wires will give you the best bang for your buck.

edit: i forgot to ask, mike. how have your plugs held up towards 100k miles? i'm at 50k right now, so i thought i would ask just for a heads up. thanks.

Just go to the parts guy and get the best AC Delco plug he's got! I went to NAPA and replaced my spark plug wires with there Belken's (which are a dark blue, but not as dark as your car... could match up alright though )

Yea, I considered the E3 for all of about 5min until I did research, and found out that it seems to improve performance for some people, and hurt performance for others. Then 4 guys said they had problems with them causing misfire, and clogging the cat in Ford Explores...I was like, ok, not using that. LOL.

Drew, I have never replaced the wires, but I had the plugs replaced at 50,000 miles by the dealer. It was not cheap, so i'm doing it myself this time. To be honest, i'm just ****, because I asked for the old plugs, and they looked mint! I was thinking about not even doing them again at 100,000 miles, but again, i'm ****, and want to do it as part of my change all the maintenance stuff at 100,000 miles service that i'll be doing. Plus I want to change the wires, so if i'm doing that, I want new plugs too...Call me ****, but thats just how I am when it comes to my car. LOL.

I don't have a cabin airfilter...unless its somewhere hidden??? But in the Bonneville its right in the hood cowl, and I don't see it there in my Monte. So if I do have it, i've never changed it!
