Default Several OBD codes,

P0131 Oxy Sensor, Circut low, Voltage

P0171 Bank 1

D1811 Long shift

P0440 Evap emissions

P0300 Random multi misfire

All of these codes came up when scanned. Has anyone ever had these and know what they are and how to fix. Also how many could be the same issue? I also know evap codes is not the gascap and I have replaced MAF several times so I do not think that is it.

Problems I've noticed: trans takes a couple seconds to go into 2nd, shifts rough, when stopped the rpm's jump back and fourth a little (noticable)

Thanks to all who can help

Sean:
How many miles on your Monte?

Could be a possible clogged converter...and or your trans may need a filter fluid change and/or possible rebuild?

Evap code could also be a bad fuel line.. age cracked and or rotting out..
Just to name a few things to help get you started..
I'm sure other members will chime in with more suggestions/ideas...

I would look up the codes for you..however, I am on vaca and the wifi here isn't really stable or very fast...

Keep us posted on your progress and what fixed your codes as well as your trans issues!
Thanks for joining the MCF Family!

You need an oxygen sensor replaced or the cat could be going bad. If you smell rotten eggs, it's the cat.

Your car is running lean (could be because of the bad oxygen sensor)

Your evap code is gonna be hard to find. Probably a leak in one of your evap lines, or the purge solenoid could be bad.

The long shift is transmission related - check your fluid. If the fluid is red and full, you're going to need to change solenoids in the transmission (not an easy job, you have to drop the cradle or pull the engine and tranny)

Random misfires could be a lot of things. Ignition module, crank sensor, MAF, MAP, even the oxygen sensor could all cause it. Check the vacuum lines for leaks.

A lot of times on these cars, there is a vacuum line near the filler neck that can crack.

Once fuel tank pressure meets certain conditions the purge solenoid and vent valve should open. If there is not adaquate vacuum to open them it will set the P0440 code. Double check not only the hoses on the tank, but also on the engine. Check for leaks at the air intake hose between the sensor and throttle body. Check the vacuun hoses on the intake manifold. Use a vacuum gauge on the brake booster to make sure it doesn't have an internal leak bleeding off vacuum. Any type of vacuum leak can set this code. This would also explain the lean condition which would also cause the multiple misfire code (P0300). The O2 sensors are probably ok - you need to find the vacuum leak. The long shift time is probably being caused by the engine not reaching certain conditions (because of the vacuum leak) and not commanding the transmission to shift until it does meet those conditions.
