Default NOISE UNDER HOOD

Hey gents, hope everyone is having a nice new year. I was backing up today and heard a knocking sound when I cut my wheel to the right. It only happens in reverse and when I just started up my car. I have no idea what it is, any help? I use to hear a similiar noise when I would switch from reverse to drive too quick, but I am not doing that this time . Thanks guys

what year car and how many miles on it?

Also crawl under it and check to see if the C.V. boots are not tore and are in good shape.
it might be one was toren and had been contaminated , if this is the case it is most likely the issue and you will need o replace the shaft and boot to ge trid of it again.

other wise it could be slop in the tranny also. but not sure on it with out hearing it. thease are litterly just guess ing on it.

cv boots.
they are the black rubber things on the end of the shaft under the car. they are on what used to be the front axel in the rwd cars. but they are normally found on both ends of the shaft on the wheel size and the tranny side. once you get the car up in the air look at the front end and you should beabel to see waht they are. but if they are tore it is most likely the shafts are conaminated in there if it has been doen for a while. stuff will get in there and tear up the u.v. joint in there and cause the shafts to go bad.
