Default Master Brake cylinder

God morning,
Still have a 1995 Monte Carlo, that I bought in April 1994. It has been sitting inside car canopy for last two years. I finallly thought it was time to move it. When I went to apply brakes when first backing up, pedal went to floor but stopped. Checked brake reservoir, it was empty so I filled it. Applied brakes again same result. Left resevoir lid off, applied brakes, no bubbles or signs of fluid movement. So I presume Master Brake cylinder is gone. New cylinders aren't that much, but with ABS it looks like a chore.. Any info or instructions on how to swap out would be helpful.

So you had no fluid, then topped it off?

The cylinder might not be bad, you might have a leak in one of the lines or just need to bleed the lines.

^^^ I agree with Mike ^^^

If the car lost the fluid in the master cylinder while sitting for 2 years I would suspect a leak in either a line or a caliper. I'd give the entire brake system an inspection prior to committing yourself to a master cylinder R&R. That much fluid leaking out should be fairly easy to spot since the car has been sitting.

When I put fluid in master cylinder and left cap and pump pedal, there is no movement in fluid in cylinder or even overflowing onto reservoir by pumping pedal..Thats why I thought it might be bad,
