M62 Supercharger
#11
You wont be able to use it if you dont have a mount or the drive for it. Those grand ams had a special supercharger housing that was formed specifically for those cars so it could mount in front of the engine (to the side technically) instead of on top. Instead of being open on the bottom, the housing necked down so it could mate with the throttle body opening on the stock intake manifold. Also, it had a TB build in to it that snaked down so it sat down below the actual body of the supercharger, so when you turned the supercharger on its side like they mount on the grand ams, the TB was actually close to its original location in the engine bay. Also, the snout had a long bearing shaft bolted on with a pully on the other end so the accessory drive could turn the supercharger and the supercharger could still sit on the opposite side of the engine. Its a pretty complicated unit. You cant just use ANY M62 you need the one specifically made for those grand ams.
I have a 2004 Monte Carlo SS Super charged Engine. Would like to increase the HP, to around 330HP. Do you know what kind of Chip I need to buy? I am new to the Hobby, the car has Headers and would need under Pullys, to support the HP.
Thanks,

CAI's don't need a tune as the PCM can adjust for them, tunes will just get you that extra bit that the car didn't get from the factory tune
