Low Tire Pressure light..help
my low tire pressure light came on the other day, and i checked all tires nothing wrong. a few days prior, i had a check engine light go on and had to replace my spark plug wires because of a misfire. also an oil pressure code came up on the diagnostic, but no problem there either. any help is appreciated.

How much driving had you done when the low tire pressure light came on? Is it possible that the tire pressure might be a bit low when the tires are cold, but could go up just enough after driving a little bit that they seem fine when you checked them?

i dont know exactly but maybe 10 miles. i got a guage because i was out and i checked all four tires. i filled one up a little because it was slightly lower than the rest but not enough that i would think it would trigger the sensor. and it still has not gone off. the max psi on my tires is 44 i have them balanced at 40.

Agreed that he's got his tire pressure too high, but would the car give him a LOW tire pressure warning when he's got the pressure that high? They couldn't drop down enough even when cold to get that warning when he's got the pressure that high.

I think the only warning is too low, so anything that malfunctions would say low. It's odd, but I don't think pressure too HIGH is programmed in, so when it notices something wrong it trips that light.

35 is between 30-32? I never knew :P
To reset without your factory radio, put the key to the on position but don't start the car. Pull the light switch out and in to the parking light position and push it in 3 times (within 5 seconds). You should hear a beep if done correctly.

i put it to 35 because my dad, who owned the car before me, said that is where he always kept it because he found it handled better there.
Thank you very much for all your help. I am always surprised at how easy it is to find solutions on this forum.

Odd, it should actually handle worse at 35 than a lower PSI because the tire is harder and won't "mold" to the road as much. You could also get uneven wear on the middle of your tires.
The OEM spec of 30/32 (depending on car) is the given specifications for the best performance, MPG, and tire wear based on the weight and dimensions of the car. 35 shouldn't be too high to do any serious damage, just something to think about.
