Default low tire pressure warning light????

hello, i have a 2002 monte ss

yesterday my low tire pressure light came on for the first time. so i stopped and checked all my tire pressures they all were at 40lb except the one was at 34lbs, so i pumped that one up to 40lbs also. i was expecting the low tire pressure light to go off on it's on like my other vehicle does but it didn't. so this morning i checked my tire pressure all tires are still at 40lbs but the light is still on. do i have to reset this manually?

Are your tires cold when you are checking them? 40lbs is very high. I would drop all the tires to the 30-33psi range.

Turn on your car, turn off your radio. Hold the DISP (bottom tuner ***) button in for 5-10 seconds. Then use the < - > arrows and 1PREV | 2NEXT buttons to scroll through the radio menu. Reset your tire pressure sensor from there (DISP button acts as the OK button)

That should do it for you.

Start the car, pull the headlight *** back 1 click and push it in, repeat for a total of 3 times within 5 seconds, and you should hear a beep
