Default l67 swap questions

Ok so my 97 z34's engine bit the dust(heads were destroyed from slipped timing), All my better donor cars were sold but i found a 97 gtp w/ 140,000 for 800. Body and interior r bad but engine and trans are good. however i got a few questions.

Firstly Ik that the 97s were a very screwy year, but besides needing a 98 pcm what else does it need and what else isn't right with them?

I have the 4t65e tranny already so would I need to modify the axle(the spindle on the gtp is not good)?

I am just going to buy the wiring harness new from autozone so what would be the best one?(ik they got a police edition and so on)

most importantly is it worth it? I am having a shop doing this since I need this car back asap. The body on my monte is in such good condition that the guy at the shop told me that junking it isn't worth it and its best to buy a new engine.

I can't remember all of the problems from the 97 L67's but IIRC the heads were prone to cracking, so look them over before you buy it.

Since you already have a 4T65E, just keep it the way it is. Don't even bother with swapping tranny's.

You will need the PCM tuned no matter what you do with this.

Also, don't buy a new wiring harness, this guy has one for sale: For Sale:: 98-99 Z34 harnesses
