I got the throttle body a while ago (stage 1) My MPG went up by about 3 MPG. There was a noticeable gain to me at the top end. Not much it seemed at the bottom end though.

But i would def say that it is worth it.

It is an intake manifold spacer- adds plenum volume and changes the rpm tuning of the intake.

ummm, not quite- the pcm is able to adjust itself quite a bit to maintain proper fueling.

I'd probably think about getting a powerlog or trying to find a used set of S&S headers personally. You'd get a little more gain that way.

As far as that tb goes- I could've swore someone made an adaptor to mount an L67 TB, maybe you could find that? You can pick up a used L67 TB for almost nothing on the various forums, and its 1mm bigger than zzp's ported tb.

The gains on the HVTB that you are stating, 3 MPGs, could just be that your stock one was dirty / the sensor were dirty??? The HVTB came with new sensors (minus the MAF) so it's possible that your car was just finally running the way it should have.

HVTB is a good mod, after a bunch more. Aren't you still saving up for the ER Rockers to go with that HV3? Don't waste the money on the HVTB if it is to go to your ER Rockers. You will want that 1-2 punch of the HV3 + ER. Save up and do things slowly but correct. Don't just throw your money at whatever mod you can afford at the time

I agree with chibi; if you have to make a choice between rockers and HVTB, go with rockers. I installed my HVTB when I did my downpipe, so I can't really say how much more performance I gained from just the throttle body. Rockers, though, are the best mod I've done so far IMO. The one thing I didn't like about the HV3 and ER rockers is the loss in low end, even with my upper mounts flipped. Poly mounts brought that low end torque back; so, I'd say HV3 + ER + Poly = a great N/A performance boost. Just throwing that idea out there.
