Thats what I was afraid of, however, worse case scenario, I pay the $100, and guardian warranty takes care of the rest. I figure she'll be out of my hands for a while which does not make me very happy. =(

My transmission was done in 8 hours. Dropped the car off the night before with my mechanic and picked it up the next day.

Or do they have to take your car, then deal with the warranty before they even dive into it?

8 hours doesn't seem too bad =D, However I think I might be lucky if I could get that kind of time, My dad had a Malibu and most recently an Altima, that have had tranny work, both were out for a few days, they gave him rentals, but still. I'm pretty sure the warranty will be an open close situation, I've talked to the company, As long as the place is certified, I give them my warranty info, pay the first $100, then the warranty covers any and al work done after that.

Depends on what they are doing, a transmission swap or a rebuild I suppose. Mine was a straight swap.

straight swap...10x easier and faster than a rebuild

Just updating, The car can barely hit 30MPH now, Its almost useless as DD, My appointment with my local GM isn't until next monday however A good friend of mines' father owns a reputable shop near me and told me I could bring it in to be checked out for free tommorrow. Hope it lasts till then, If they can fix it I would be overjoyed, considering the GM wants 75.00usd just to figure out whats wrong.

Wooo!

It's Fixed all! Took it to my east chevy before classes(around 8am yesterday) and they called around 5 for me to pick it up. Turns out it was the catalytic(sp?) converter. $400 part, that didn't cost me a cent. The warranty really held up, I was assuming they would charge me a deductible or something but they didn't. Freakin awesome.

The car drives better than it did when I bought it, the shifts are so smooth and I took it on a 0-60 run yesterday I couldn't help but let out a happy shout. Man whomever says these cars are slow just haven't been in them before.

Oh and on the lighting note, it was my taillight fuse that went, my dash wasn't working because of it, apparently the dash goes out when the tail lights go out as notification to the driver that something is wrong.
