Help! Shifter stuck in park
#11
Thanks for all the help guys! Got it fixed and back on the road.
It was a broken wire running to BTS switch. The wires are forced into a tight bend every time you pull back shifter. I spliced wire and added some plastic wire wrap to give the group of wires some protection and support.
The button is in there exactly as SolaraSlayer stated and is really handy for all of us to know. It's very easy to access in the event that your wires break or shifter button fails. Just pop out cupholder and reach down there.
Thanks again guys!!
BTW, Nice looking Monte SolaraSlayer - mine looks just like yours but no Flows or upgrades

2006 monte carlo stuck in park due to broken ground wire..cost 75 bucks to fix also had some sticky soda spilled in there.
Take off cup holder or reach under right side near shifter and find button (aluminum ) press it was about the size of a dime and a rounded dome button. If in neutral make sure your dont role!
btw dealership had car for 2 hours and quoted us 775 to fix Alan Web(replace shifter I guess) but we went somewhere else and got it fixed for 75.
