fuel Injection to carb

Exclamation fuel Injection to carb

Hi I have a 1985 monte carlo with a 4.3 v6 and a 200-4R tranny I am in the process of swaping it to a carb 350 can anybody help me with wiring and with the orverdrive or any advice at all thank you

if you're going to run an old school carbed 350cid with no electronics (and no computer controlled carb) you can pretty much eliminate the bulk of the wiring harness, with the exception of the basic stuff you'll need like the water temp sending unit, oil, ignition, ect. as for the tranny: are you sure it's a 200-4R? cause all those 4.3 cars came with a 3 speed metric tran unless you or somebody else changed it along the way. regardless, Summit sells a stand-alone kit that will allow you to make that lock-up converter work just fine. also, you currently have an in-tank fuel pump. that 350 has it's own fuel pump bolted to it. I don't know if the factory in-tank fuel pump has enuff ooomph to feed the 350 and you could put a block off plate on the motor, or you may have to run the pump that's bolted to the 350, and bypass the in-tank pump. I'll do a little research and get back to you.

the 200-4R is a 4 speed automatic. do you have 4 gears that let you go forward? or 3?

a traditional carbureted engine only needs anywhere from 6-10psi of pressure to run efficiently. i would just use the mechanical fuel pump on the engine. you can get rid of the stock in-tank pump (since that puts out anywhere from 35-50 psi) and see if you can just plumb the feed and return lines to the engine. maybe you could find a sending unit from a carbed monte and swap it out...just a guess/idea.

another option would be to use the in-tank pump with a pressure regulator set at the correct pressure at the engine. imo that is the more complicated route to go.

thanks i was thinking of using the mechanical i just have to look into it a little more
