Yes the powder not liquid. That's what they do especially when they change from dexcool to the green stuff. Never had a problem.

thats what they do at my work when they change coolants.

basicly, well they use degreaser, but its the same princible.

dont mix different kinds of coolant. nothing really would happen, maybe some foam. per the manufacture it compromises the quality of it.

im not sure what dexcool is made of but most coolant is made of mineral oil, detergant, and water.

I don't know about that mineral oil
mine says
Ethylene Glycol (the antifreeze agent)
Diehtylene Glycol (a highly toxic solvent)
Potassium Hydroxide (reduces acids in the cooling system)
Sodium Benzoate (a preservative and anti fungal agent)
Water
don't drink this stuff!!!!!

I just used this kit today. IT WAS AWESOME!!!! I flushed the hell out of my engine. This kit was really usefull. It def made the flush job easier. And the T adapter stays in the engine (you cut a line to get it in). So future flushes are a cinch (i hope)

the dealer put some thing simular in with my uper radiator hose and one of my heater core hoses. i asked them why they did that they said if i wanted to flush it my self or have them do it again it helps to get all the old fluid out and also helps get all the air out as well when filling it back up again. what i mean is the heater cor t cap losein it when the car is on while toping it off you will hear a hiss then a buble buble sound when water starts to get to the top of the t on the heater hose. thats what was told to me and when flushing it makes it easy to they told me just stick a hose to the t on the heater hose and fill it with water cap it turn on and then repate

I just bought a backflush kit for my 2004 Monte 3.8L. I just need to know which hose leading to the firewall is the heater inlet hose. My Haynes manual doesn't have this area covered for some reason. Can someone tell me which is which?

thanks,
xray
