double roller question

Default double roller question

just wanna make sure it was done right when installing a double roller timing chain i dont need to install the damper which came with the stock timing chain?

First off what engine? I'm assuming a 3800. If this is the case no chain tensioner needs to be used. Be sure to get a machined pump cover so the chain doesn't rub and fail. Also it's a good idea to get the gears machined to the block so they fit true and don't stress the chain.

People say double gasket the front cover for clearance, I say it's stupid to do this. Double gasket makes for an easy leaky gasket and I feel it's not enough clearance. This is like a cheap bandaid fix instead of a permanent solution.
