What year is your Monte Carlo? Mine is a 2003. How much does a new radator cost, and how much would a mechanic charge me to put it on?

This thread has been inactive for about 5 years. You would be best off starting your own thread.

To help answer your question....
Changing the radiator in these cars is easy and straight forward. I would also recommend if the radiator failed and you don't know the age of the radiator and heater core hoses, change all of those as well. If you have a 3800, also change the coolant elbows.

You can price everything with sites like www.RockAuto.com or contact your local autoparts stores.

As for a mechanic, some mechanics will use the parts you provide. But I also know even if they do, most are not a fan of this. The issue is warranty! Some mechanics guarantee the labor and parts. But if you provide the parts, most do not want to provide any guarantee since they know nothing of where the parts were sourced and/or the brands, plus you introduce a 3rd party/middle man.

If you require a mechanic to do this service for you, I recommend you talk to the mechanic/shop and find out what they will charge and what works best (if you source the parts or if they do).
