Well as I said with an aftermarket water pump, radiator and no t stat and 3 cooling fans( regardless if they are set up right or not) tell me the person that did that was chasing a overheating / leaking problem.I would be careful you don't have issues that might surface when you need it the least. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find a heater coreor the engine full of stop leak.I have never seen a street legal car need that much CFM air flow to stay cool, and I have seen and worked on a few monsters which werenot totally legal on the street. It might be doing ok now,but it is November,be careful when the weather heats upor you sit in heavy traffic for any length of time.

Good luck I do hope everything works well for you.

no need for so many aftermarket fans. 1 or 2 should be fine depending on the cfm the fan(s)push/pull. you gotta get used to turning them on.i turn mine on when the car reaches 160 degrees. not having a thermostat in it at all wont affect anything but the temp of your heater. a 160 or 180 stat is fine. i prefer the 160 solely because for every 10 degrees cooler your car runs there is a 1% increase in hp. i'm a performance nut so thats how i think. the best solution is the shroud and the clutch fan if cooling issues continue to haunt you but there again is another hp robber. prolly why the guyswitched to electric in the first place. good luck.

Yea, electric fans suck for anything but the strip, and the only reasons to use them for drag racing is because they rob less power from the engine and you can leave them on after you shut the car down to further cool the coolant in the radiator. ELECTRIC FANS DO NOT COOL BETTER. A clutch or flex fan with a good shroud will always cool better in summer traffic.

i agree Debo but my car is very streetable and runs off twin electrics only and its the equivalent of 3+ ss engines.if the elec. fan(s) are chosen for the application correctly there will be no overheating probs. providedall is installed properly and so forth... almost every carmade todayruns on electrics. ALSO,... would like to know how 87 monte ss came to the conclusion the temp guage was off by 20 degrees??? most mechanical aftermarket guages are better and definitely more accurate than the factory ones on those yr model montes.

Yea its true, you can get the right fans that will work very well, but I see people just throwing cheap electric fanson their radiator, and subsequently overheating, way too often.

haha thanks, but when you buy a car with 170,000 miles on it, its gonna have door dings... Fortunately I have a friend that does PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) and I got my whole car de-dented(lol) for $50. Not a single ding it in now.
