Check engine light / misfire
past 2 months ive been getting a hard time actually getting up quickly (my car wouldnt go any faster than 25 mph for a good 2 mins or so). a local service center came to a conclusion that it was my cat converter and that it cost over 6 benjamins to fix
i was in somewhat of a denial until my local mechanic confirmed thats what it was but laughed at the high cost to fix. (FYI during this time my car NEVER shook while idle). he also noticed that since getting the car back from the dealership that i had a hole in my upper intake manifold (is this the same thing as a gasket???)
well, my warranty covered the manifold issue but i still needed a cat converter. and a week & $170 later i had a new cat converter on my car from my mechanic. but now i have shaking action while idle. he suggested a tuneup to get this corrected and also suggested a coil be replaced.
well i did the tuneup @ meineke and they mentioned a half dollar sized hole on the gasket too and said thats why it is shaking while idle. does any of this make any sense to you all? ? ? im willing to bet that id been driving the car far too long (after manifold fix but still with a bad cat) and probably caused pressure to pop another hole in that manifold, but will the hole cause the car to shake while idle?
man, chevrolet and gm have been giving me hell this past week. for some reason no one i talk to there knows anything about the 100,000 warranty on parts and for some reason they keep telling me its 80, 000 and i cant get it because i was @ 80, 232. talk about no mercy
