Default Cheap/simple/DIY engine mods?

So im gonna enter a car show, but all i got in my engine baby is a little intake and i painted the strut bars gold. Not gonna get any attention with just that.

Does anyone know any reasonable mods for a 3400 series engine?

I'm not all that familiar with 3400's but the first thing that came to mind was a 3500 upper intake swap. With a little work, you can do the swap yourself. Here's an article on it: GM 60V6 - Articles - Swapping a 3500 upper onto a 3400 engine - WOT-Tech

Good looking Monte btw.
