Default carb.manifold question

hey all, I have an '87 SS, with the Q-Jet 305. I am lookin to put a holley manifold and carb on within the next few weeks, had a question tho. Are the heads on that engine alum or cast. I am at college right now so I can't just run out and do the old magnet trick. Any insight would be great. Also, a question to the Carb'd guys, what are you running for setups? The car is going to be street performance, no strip or track time, so I want something thats going to perform well all over the RPM range. Im running a pair of flows 40 series, and headers are coming soon too. thanks for any input.

Default RE: carb.manifold question

well first the heads are cast but they are good heads as for the intake manifold and carb i would go with a edelbrock air gap and one of there 600cfm carbs with headers and a true dual exhaust it should be a good start. cause the intake and carb are always good for a biger displacement project later on !!!!!
